this statement is always code for “I really have a small budget.” That’s fine, we don’t have a big budget either. We get it. You run a small business in a small town and you don’t want to invest thousands of dollars to have some whiz-bang site with all the bells/whistles when you have a beer budget and even more basic needs.
I just had this conversation not 20 minutes ago. I’m going to let you in on a little secret:
- The cost between the “super basic site” and the site that has optimized SEO, newsletter management, social media integration, some nice photography, and robust, comprehensive information….isn’t all that different.
It’s the truth. Let’s say there are 10 steps to building a basic site. Domain registrations, hosting account set up, software installations, site customizations, picture loading, text loading, etc. These are all the same for your very robust site. The additional steps to fully outfit you with a tremendous site that REALLY works for you is literally a few hundred dollars. Yup, just a few hundred.
Yes, we can strip down a site and give you the bare minimum and would be happy to do so. HOWEVER, if you ask a reputable firm to first quote the basic site and then quote the robust site, the price difference SHOULD not be all that different. (disclaimer – you COULD be asking for some highly complex, very customized work as part of your robust site, and that actually could affect price greatly, so please know I’m speaking generally based on the needs of 99% of our clients).
Call us. I’ll quote you anything you want to talk about. At the end of the day, I want your site to work hard for you and to deliver what we know it can do for you.
